IRON COUNTY— Iron County Hunter Safety will be holding spring classes in Crystal Falls and Iron River.
In Crystal Falls, classes will be April 22, 24, 29 and May 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Forest Park school.

Benefit hockey game slated this Saturday

IRON RIVER—A Michigan conservation officer’s recent routine fishing patrol stop has led to a 26-year-old Iron River man being arrested for illegally killing a deer and operating an illegal marijuana growing operation.

Pee Wee Ice Hawks skated to gold medal win at the during the District 8 playoffs in Iron Mountain Feb. 15 to 17. Eight teams were entered in the district tournament. The Ice Hawks had to put on their skates against five opposing teams to win. They won all five games. The Ice Hawks routed Escanaba 9-2 in the championship. They will represent the U.P. in the state finals in Midland in March. The Ice Hawks-Ironwood Co-op Bantam hockey team won the Central Upper Peninsula Hockey League tournament on Sunday, Feb. 16, with two wins over Calumet. Musky club holds annual banquet on Feb. 22

IRON MOUNTAIN— The Boundary Waters Musky Club will be holding its sixth annual expo and annual meeting on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Econo Lodge in Iron Mountain.
