Rob Rottier (right) and West Iron County High School junior Andrew Peterson install one of eight hardwood panels as work on the new fitness center continues. Students participated in a Lift-A-Thon to help fund the installation of the new floor and weight lifting equipment in the mezzanine of the Charles Greenlund Gymnasium. Rottier is a 2004 graduate of West Iron and is an installation technician for Connor Sport Flooring of Amasa. The Wykon logo was custom applied to the oak surface by Ryan and Becky Blazier of American Classic Sign Co. The panels were glued in place, but pads surrounding the stations are free-floating for cleaning and maintenance. The new fitness center is part of the school district’s program to promote healthy habits including exercise.
