Boundaries overstepped
To the editor:
Anglers and recreational folks beware; another invasive species ordinance has been passed on our local Iron County fisheries.
Bates Township has now joined partnership with Stambaugh Township and their ordinance to control invasive species such as Chicaugon Lake on waters that belong to us.

Too valuable
To the editor:
Some lands are just too valuable to trade and trade is what the Forest Service intends to do.
The Forest Service lands to be forfeit in the trade contain important public attractions such as Wildcat Falls, rock outcrop features, Scott and Howe Creek, and Hardwood-Hemlock-Cedar Forests with unique and rare old growth characteristics.
The land is located northwest of Watersmeet, west and northwesterly of County Line Lake.

Thanks for your support
To the editor:
The Iron County Cancer Unit Board extends a heart-felt thank you to all of the folks who donated during the WIKB Radio-thon on March 6.
The ICCU would not be ale to provide the necessary assistance to Iron County cancer patients without the help of such generous people. As Mo mentioned during the Telephone Time program, the ICCU functions solely on donations and the need to increase financial support is necessary.

Great support
To the editor:
Since 1993, I have had the opportunity to bring a MASTERS Racing Circuit event to many communities and counties throughout the Midwest. Since 1981, I have been the announcer for another Snowmobile Race Circuit, and since 1987, I have been the announcer for a Snowmobile Watercross Racing Circuit. In other words, I have visited and been a part of hundreds of snowmobile events over the past 30 years.

Blood drive a success
To the editor:
On behalf of the U.P. Regional Blood Center I would like to thank Pearl Ross and Pat Kosiba for hosting a blood drive in the month of January.
As a result of their efforts, we collected an outstanding 46 pints of blood. These two ladies deserve a big round of applause for helping the U.P. Regional Blood Center save countless lives.

Generosity
To the editor:
I shall pass through this world but once. If, therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do, let me do it now: let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again – E’tienne De Grellet

In response
To the editor:
Iron County residents, in response to a letter written to the editor recently by a county commissioner, I feel it’s my duty to comment.
According to the Iron County Commissioners “Code of Ethics” No. 3 reads—A board member has the right to express personal opinions and when expressing such opinions in public, the member should clearly state the opinion as personal. This just happens to be the same board member who reminded me a few months ago that I should follow these codes. Does this only apply if you are one of the board members who are not part of the decision making process? Many important issues are being made by a few members and not brought to the full board. I believe the most effective way we can serve the residents of Iron County is by making our decisions in a public forum, where we can ensure our constituents are well informed and we work together as a whole.

Everyone’s
right to life
To the editor:
Re: Unborn mourned (Jan. 25 Reader’s Viewpoint)
The writer is correct. Everyone has a right to life. I have no dispute about that. I do however have a question about the "tools' for abortion that are referred to.
What are they, who uses them and at what period in the life cycle are they being used? The innuendo was they were barbarous.
