CRYSTAL FALLS—It’s tourney time in the NCAA, the NIT—and in the Crystal Falls Men’s Basketball League, too.
And you don’t have to wait several weeks for the Final Four! It’s already here!
Semifinal play starts March 26, with a pair of games: Fob’s vs. Shamco at 6:30 p.m., followed by the McNeil Oilers vs. Generations at 7:30. The title and third place champs will be decided April 2.
The regular season ended with games on March 19, with a pair of blowouts.
Shamco opened the night with a 96-52 win over Infield Bar. Kyle LaVacque fired 30 points to lead Shamco, Ryan Shamion added another 25, followed by Brad Anderson with 14 and Tim Wheeler with 11.
Infield’s high scorer was Chad Martin, with 13 points. Bobby Woolard scord 12, and Wesley Takala scored 10.
In the nightcap, the Oilers had 20 players scoring in the 20s and six in double figures, powering a 110-64 win over Generation.
The Oilers scored 34 in the first quarter and kept on going from there. Drew Gussert led the balanced attack with 22 points, Erik Peterson had 21, and Scott Gussert added 20 more. Bryan LaChapelle just missed the 20-point club, finishing with 19, and Tommy Williams and Dave Graff both scored 10.
Cory Dacheff of Generations earned high scoring honors with 32 points. Dave Lesandrini scored 10.
