CASPIAN—A fundraiser is underway for the purchase of a new lawnmower for the Iron County Museum.
A local supplier is offering a zero-turn commercial-grade lawnmower with a five-year maintenance agreement at a special price of $5,500. Jack Kangas, of the building and grounds committee, is spearheading this fundraiser. The goal is to have the mower available at the museum before the May 31 grand opening.
“There’s a lot of lawn to mow at the museum, and it’s all done by volunteers,” Kangas said. “We need to make their job easier with a larger, newer mower.
Monetary donations, either large or small, are encouraged. Checks can be mailed to the Museum Lawnmower Fund at P.O. Box 272, Caspian, MI 49915. Contact Jack at 265-3726 or the museum director at 265-2617 for more information.
