PHELPS, Wis.—The Phelps Lions Club will be hosting its 28th annual Great Northern Ice Fishing Tournament on Jan. 24.
The event will be held at the West Shore boat landing on Lac Vieux Desert, with registration briefing beginning at 8 a.m. There will be a morning contest from 8 a.m. until noon and an afternoon contest from noon until 4 p.m. Cash prizes will be given for the largest fish in each of five categories:northern, walleye, perch, crappie and bluegill.
The tournament dinner will be held at the Derby Loft at the Snowmobile Derby Track in Eagle River, immediately following the tournament. The bar opens for a social hour at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5:30.
Door prizes, tournament prizes and great raffle prizes will be awarded during the dinner.
