It’s pumpkin time in Alpha PDF Print E-mail

ALPHA—The Porter School Market Place kicks off the autumn season this Saturday with the first of two pumpkin fests.
On Oct. 5, there will be pumpkin décor ideas, pumpkin recipes and samples. Craft fair vendors will be selling autumn items. There will be apple cider and pumpkin coffee.
You can get your picture taken with whimsical scarecrows in the pumpkin patch and throughout the halls of the historic Porter School. Pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and straw bales will be available to purchase.
Door prizes will include hand-decorated autumn pumpkins and gourd.
The Porter School Library will host story-time with Mary Ellen at 10 a.m. The doors to Backroom Used Books will be open throughout Pumpkin Fest.
The weekly farmers market will be also be taking place.
The second Pumpkin Fest will take place on Oct. 26 for Haunted Alpha. Porter School will be having trick-or-treating, games and pumpkin prizes for kids from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Alpha Senior Center will have a haunted house from 4 to 10 p.m.  The Circle Café will be hosting a Halloween Ball from 7 to 11 p.m. Live music will be performed. Refreshments will be provided by the Alpha Mastodon Fire Department.
“Make Alpha a stop on your autumn tour,” said an organizer, “it’s a great place to pick out traditional and unique harvest pumpkins.”
