IRON RIVER—Josh Brindle, organizer of last winter’s IronLine sled dog race, has announced that another great sled dog event is scheduled for Iron County in 2014.
A special kickoff event for this winter’s IronLine race will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Windsor Auditorium in the Windsor Center. An exciting evening is planned to present the race plan to the community and let anybody know how they can get involved.
As for volunteers, Brindle will explain the plans for this winter’s race and detail many areas where enthusiasts of all ages can get involved.
“For sponsors, we will be thanking the sponsors and donors from last year, who really put their necks on the line for us to help us get going,” Brindle said.
They will receive public thanks and a small gift from the IronLine staff. Potential new sponsors will learn many ways they can support, donate, or back this community-building endeavor.
For all of the dog-lovers and mushing fans, video montages and slideshows with plenty of Alaskan huskies and racing and snow and Iron County’s own having a blast at last February’s IronLine race will be shown.
The community is invited to a “meet and greet” in the Windsor Center cafeteria for snacks and Bearded Apple coffee.
