BEECHWOOD—On Saturday, July 27, from 2 to 5 p.m., the Beechwood Historical Society is hosting a picnic and celebration of the bell tower restored to the roof of the Beechwood Hall.
The bell tower was in place when the building functioned as the Beechwood School from 1914 to 1933. The original school bell is currently on loan from the Iron County Museum and is on display inside the hall. Both were on the society’s float during the Rodeo Parade July 20.
The picnic includes hot dogs/brats, beverages, sides and dessert for $6. There will be activities for the young and not-so-young, such as foot races, sack races and other games with prizes. The Beechwood Hall is at 178 Old Beechwood Store Road, about eight miles west of Iron River. For more information, call 906-284-1501.
