IRON RIVER—Step back in time, as Rum Rebellion Days barrels into town July 10-14, bringing a variety of good old fashioned fun for the whole family to enjoy.
This year, along with Iron River Community Concepts, several other organizations will be sponsoring a variety of the events.
On Wednesday and Friday evenings, enjoy “Elvis is in The House,” sponsored by the Friends of Camp Batawagama. Come and relive the magic of Elvis with Elvis impersonator Ryan Roth.
He will be performing with backup music from the EAS band from Chicago, the official band of Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPI/Graceland), which is respected throughout the industry as the No. 1 touring tribute band. Also accompanying the performance are local musicians Jack Jackson and his daughter Julie Weaver.
Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce and Central Arts and Gifts. The event will be held at 7 p.m. at the Windsor Auditorium.
Tickets for the Afterglow fundraiser, which follows the performance, will be $10. On July 10, the Afterglow will be at Alice’s; on July 12, it will be at The Station. Proceeds from the event support Camp Batawagama programs.
Thursday is the wine and cheese event at the Iron County Historical Museum in Caspian. This has been a popular evening of good food, fine wines and fellowship for several years. Tickets are still available for $35 per person and need to be purchased in advance by calling 906-265-2617.
Friday’s events kick off with Market Days in downtown Iron River. Along with outside vendors, there will be live music, a dunk tank, face painting and food.
The West Iron District Library will be having its traditional Historic Photo Shoot and a bake sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The Pie Social at the Iron River City Hall will benefit the Reino Post.
The RAIC golf scramble will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Iron River Country Club.
On Saturday, there will be a pancake breakfast at the Iron River Senior Center from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
If you’ve in the mood for lunch, a brat feed will be at Angeli Central Market, sponsored by Friends of the Library, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Join in some old-time festivities in the Iron River and Caspian areas during the Rum Rebellion weekend.
