IRON RIVER—The Carrie Jacobs-Bond Quilt Club will hold its annual rummage/bake sale on Friday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in Big Tone’s Cafeteria in the Windsor Center in Iron River.
Entrance to the cafeteria is from Adams Street (U.S. 2) or from the back of the Windsor Center on Cayuga Street.
A small quilt/wall hanging made by Nina Rigodanzo will be featured at the sale.
Assorted baked specialties will be available for sale each day.
Proceeds from the rummage and bake sale will allow the quilt club to purchase new fabric, batting and other notions for making comfort quilts for children at the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield, Wis., and covers for isolets in the neonatal unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital, also in Marshfield.
A new quilt is made and given to Iron County dialysis patients and one is given to new patients at the Oscar Johnson VA Hospital in Iron Mountain who are suffering injuries and other trauma from the recent wars. These are ongoing projects for the club.
The CJB Quilt Club has 30 members who meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor in Room 208 in the Windsor Center in Iron River. Visitors are welcome any time during those hours.
