IRON COUNTY—The Iron County Sheriff Department is running a free ORV safety class on Saturday morning, June 15.
The class will start promptly at 8 a.m. and continue to noon. The class will be held at the Iron County Courthouse. Students will be met at the south entrance of the courthouse by the instructor and admitted to the classroom at 8 a.m. sharp.
There is limited classroom space, so youth from Iron County will be given first preference in attending the safety class. If there is space available, out of county youth may register for the class.
Please sign up early to make sure that your student is assured a seat in the class. The learning materials are geared for youth that have attained the age of at least 12 years old. No students under the age of 12 will be allowed to take the class.
Students that take the class and pass the examination will be issued an ORV safety certificate. This allows youths to ride an ORV on the trails while accompanied by an adult. The instruction and materials will be provided by the Iron County Sheriff Department.
To register for the ORV safety class please call the Iron County Sheriff Department during regular business hours at (906) 875-0650.
