FLORENCE, Wis.—The Silent Sporters, a local outdoor group, will paddle the Pine River Oxbow on Saturday, May 4 at 1 pm.
The Oxbow is at the County N bridge about seven miles south of Florence on County Highway N. If you are coming from the Iron Mountain area, drive into Aurora and head out on County Highway N for about 6.7 miles. Turn right on N, and go 3.2 miles to the Oxbow.
Because the Pine River makes a bend (the oxbow), the take-out is only 1/4 mile from the put-in at the County N bridge. The paddle is 3.5 miles long.
If you are a new paddler, Silent Sporters will help you get your boat off and back on your vehicle and will stay with you as we go down the Pine.
