“This is really an educational program designed to encourage wellness,” Peg James, NorthStar’s director of communications, said.
Commit to be Fit is part of the Total Woman lecture/seminar series hosted by the hospital.
“Benefits of weight loss and exercise are just part of the program,” James said. “We’re looking at improving self-esteem, at improving women’s outlook.”
Speakers will discuss exercise and proper nutrition with a presentation from Weight Watchers.
The program is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at the NorthStar Health System cafeteria. The program is free, but voluntary donations are accepted.
