Harry and Tammy Weng of the Wooden Nickle and Tommy Fritz of Riverside Pizzeria present the firearms they are donating to the Nov. 17 Camp Gibbs Banquet. The Wengs are donating a Mossberg 270 bolt action rifle, and Fritz has a German Sport Guns .22 semi-auto rifle. Due to these and other donors, Camp Gibbs will award 11 guns to lucky winners at the annual event, along with many other prizes.
Some tickets are still available and can be purchased at Zippidy Duda Supper Club in downtown Iron River or by calling 906-265-6193 or 906-367-0681 from Greg and Sheree Stebbins. The banquet will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 8. Door prize and raffle drawings follow the banquet. Proceeds from this event go toward building preservation and improvements at Camp Gibbs, a historical landmark on the Heritage Trail located on Gibbs City Road west of Iron River. (Stebbins photo)
