CRYSTAL FALLS—A former Alpha village clerk is free on bond and is scheduled for arraignment Nov. 13 on felony embezzlement charges.
According to an Iron County sheriff’s release, the 34-year-old man was arrested after Prosecutor Melissa Powell authorized an eight-count warrant. The warrant resulted from a 2½-month investigation after which deputies allege the former clerk embezzled funds from the village between March and August.
The suspect was released on $25,000 personal recog-nizance bond. The Sheriff’s Department is not releasing his name pending arraignment, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. Nov. 13 in District Court.
