CASPIAN—The 23rd annual Christmas Tree Galleria kicks off Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Iron County Museum with a program to honor eight community volunteers.
During the 2 p.m. opening ceremony, Miss Iron County Alex Nelson will present certificates to Carol Erickson, Irene Juneau, Charlotte Bofinger, Elizabeth Hagberg, Julie Harp, Harry Colony, Robert Pozniak and Barbara Martini. Admission to Saturday’s program is free.
Events on Sunday, Nov. 11, also start at 2 p.m. with the West End Players singing Christmas songs. “The young people in the group have really enjoyed the rehearsals and are looking forward to sharing their pleasure,” said director Louella Holroyd.
For the second year, the galleria committee hosts family night, featuring a light meal and activities that include frosting cookies, making ornaments, meeting Mrs. Claus plus touring the decorated trees. Family night runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is a can or package of non-perishable food, which will be donated to a local food pantry.
The final program is Sunday, Nov. 18, with drawings for 38 raffle baskets plus Seth Waters and the Ironland Band providing music for “Dancing Among” the Trees.
Galleria hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
