ALPHA—The Porter School Market Place is kicking off the holiday season with the first of two Christmas craft shows.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, the halls of the old Porter School building will be decked with holly for shoppers and crafters. The Christmas Craft Show runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Handcrafted items include fresh pine wreaths and swags, hair bows, quilts and afghans, holiday cards, notes and treasures, ribbon jewelry, hand-woven rugs, soaps and lotions, pet clothing, doll clothing, birdhouses, stone jewelry, wool candle mats, handcrafted knives, baked goods, jams and jellies and so much more.
There will also be Pampered Chef, Mary Kay and Scentsy products.
Local author Lee Schultz will be at the Porter School Library doing a book signing. If you are looking for Thanksgiving décor, there are many pumpkins and gourds available.
A can-a-thon luncheon will be available, so bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry, in exchange for a sandwich, homemade Cookie Hutch cookie and a drink.
Sign up for holiday door prizes. Get some locally made holiday gifts and meet with friends at the Christmas Craft Show.
