CRYSTAL FALLS—Forest Park’s volleyball team had it all its own way here Aug. 30 in a 3-0 sweep over Bark River-Harris in a Skyline Conference match.
The scores tell the story: 25-12, 25-12, 25-11. The Lady Trojans are now 9-3-2 overall, 2-0 in the Skyline.
“Strong, consistent performance,” reported Coach Kim Bjork. “All the girls played well.

“We moved well on coverage and stayed focused the entire match.”
Power numbers: Junior middle hitter Lexi Gussert was a lethal force against the Broncos, finishing with 20 kills, nine blocks, 10 digs and two aces on serve.
She was hardly alone. At the net, Sam Nylund had eight kills, and Kendra Campbell had four. And the Lady Trojans were digging all over the place. Besides Gussert’s 10, Gina Graff had 12, Campbell had seven and Mindy DeNell, Maria DeMurt and Melina Doering each had six.
Other stats: Maria Stankewicz had 24 assists. Graff had four aces, and Stankewicz and Abby Sommers both had two.
Coach Bjork said the girls who came off the bench all played hard.
Coming up: Forest Park hosts Mid Peninsula on Sept. 4 and visits to North Dickinson Sept. 11.
