CRYSTAL FALLS—Despite stifling heat and windy conditions, over 50 spectators and over 20 dogs turned out for the fifth annual dog show held at Lakeview Bible Church Aug. 25.

Judges said the competition was tough, but this year’s Best In Show trophy went to a mixed-breed pup named Stryker.
In addition to the Best In Show trophy, 27 ribbons were awarded and 10 prizes given away with this year’s drawings.
“The dog show is always a fun family event, which is geared toward the family pet,” said a spokesperson.
“Next year’s show is already being planned for the last Saturday in August.
“Tents will be available next year to provide shade and shelter from possible rain.”
The show time might be moved to 10 a.m. instead of 1 p.m. as an extra convenience for those who wish to participate, the spokesperson noted.
Lakeview Bible Church would like to thank the community for showing support by bringing dogs and coming to watch the event.
“Many thanks to Countryside Pet Salon, Little Claws to Big Paws and JR’s Farm and Garden for their generous donations of gift certificates and treats for the drawings. “
