IRON RIVER—Celebrated Wisconsin folksinger Skip Jones will be performing in concert Tuesday, July 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the West Iron District Library, 116 W. Genesee St. here.

Jones has been on the road since spring delighting crowds with his wit, charm and soul as part of his 2012 “Water Is Life” tour.
From Madison to Saginaw to Big Bay to Ashland, he has been carrying the message to young and old alike that our Great Lakes are precious and irreplaceable.
Just out of the studio earlier this year recording songs that celebrate and emphasize the “Gift of Water,” he will be playing and singing songs for the young and the young-at-heart.
“He won’t let you forget that, here in Michigan, we are never more than six miles from a body of water and we are the caretakers of more than 3,288 miles of breathtaking shoreline,” said a spokesperson.
This event is free and open to the public.
