Antique appraisal event set at West Iron library PDF Print E-mail

IRON RIVER—Antique and fine art appraiser Mark Moran of Iola, Wis., will be bringing his expertise to the West Iron District Library for an appraisal event on Thursday, July 12, from 3 to 6 p.m.

 He has served as a guest expert on PBS’s “Antiques Roadshow,” and is the author of more than 25 books on antiques and collectibles.
 Appraisals are by reservation only, and a charge of $15 per item is requested. Categories of objects for appraisal include fine art, furniture, ceramics, glassware, vintage photographs, advertising, folk art, assorted toys, metalware, clocks and costume jewelry.
 Items excluded include all weapons, including swords and knives, coins and paper money, Beanie Babies, fine jewelry, pocket and wristwatches and most musical instruments. Call the library at 265-2831 with questions about acceptable items.
 Moran has bought and sold antiques for more than 30 years, specializing in vintage folk art, Americana and fine art.
