IRON RIVER—Plans have been announced for a one-day 3-on-3 basketball tournament to take place at West Iron County High School on Saturday, June 30.
The Blazin’ Blue tournament will be played both indoors and outdoors at the high school. In case of rain, the indoor games will be moved to the ice arena building in Caspian.

Action starts at 8:30 a.m. and will run till about 6:30 p.m. All players will get T-shirts, and trophies will go to the top teams.
There will be divisions for both boys and girls in grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, junior varsity and varsity. The first eight teams to file in each division will be in the tourney.
Flyers for the tournament are available at all area school offices. The entry fee is $75 per team; all profits will go to support the West Iron boys basketball team, including defraying the costs of attending team camp.
Organizers are looking for about two dozen volunteers to serve as scorekeepers or court monitors during the tournament. Anyone interested in helping should call Dan Schive (906-367-0911) or Kevin Leonoff (906-284-0434).
