Trojans claim third at two meets PDF Print E-mail

CRYSTAL FALLS—The competition was tough for Forest Park in a pair of track meets last week, but the Trojans boys and girls finished third both times.
 Forest Park also had a pair of double winners. Gina Graff earned first place in discus competition, topping 100 feet in both meets, and the boys 3200 relay team also won at both meets. The quartet includes Mark Hallmann, Jon Curtis, Derek Aberly and Jake Divine.


 At Norway, Forest Park’s Alex Takala won the 400-meter dash in 52.91 seconds. The 3200 relay team won in 8 minutes, 57.32 seconds.
 Second place was earned by Aberly in the 400, Hallmann in the 1600, Divine in the 800, Chris Hilberg in high jump and the 400 relay team.
 Forest Park’s boys finished third in the team competition with 81 points. Niagara won with 129, and North Dickinson was second with 116. Seven teams took part. Results:
 Track results: 110 high hurdles: 3. Tyler Lovato. 1600: 2. Mark Hallmann.  400: 1. Alex Takala, 52.91; 2. Derek Aberly. 800: 2. Jake Divine; 6. Jeff Marchi. 3200: 4. Lance Mongar; 5. Micah Ball.
 Relay results: 3200: 1. FP (M.Hallmann, Jon Curtis, Aberly, Divine, 8:57.32. 800: 2. FP. 400 relay: 3. FP.
 Field results: High jump: 2. (tie) Chris Hilberg. Shot put: 6. Adam Luft. Discus: 5. Paige; 6. Steve Hallmann.
 The Lady Trojans’ Adel Isaacson won the 3200-meter run, and Graff won discus honors with a toss of 106 feet, 3 inches. The 3200 relay quartet also finished first.
 Runners-up at Norway were Audrey Sholander (100 highs), Casey Ponchaud (1600) and the 800 relay team.
