CHICAUGON LAKE—Forest Park’s Dustin Dishaw had the George Young Golf Course in control here May 3.
Dishaw fired an 18-hole score of 74 to easily earn medalist honors during the George Young Boys’ Invitational. He shot 37 on both nines.
His score helped Forest Park tie for third in team standings at the event.
Five golfers—two from L’Anse and one each from Calumet, Hancock and Houghton—tied for second place in medalist honors with rounds of 77.
Hancock won team honors with a team score of 325, Calumet was second at 328, and Forest Park and Iron Mountain tied for third at 334. Houghton was fifth at 336.
Dishaw led the Forest Park squad and was backed up by David Stenkewicz (81), David Beck (84), Matt Sawyer (95) and Michael Smithson (96). The best four individual scores are used for the team score.
West Iron County was led by Austin Waara, with a 18-hole score of 88. Other Wykon golfers were Joe Schmidt (95), Austin Atanasoff (115) and Matt Schmidt (125). The Wykons’ team score was 424.
A total of 18 teams took part.
