CRYSTAL FALLS—Jury selection in Iron County Trial Court begins Monday, April 23, for murder suspect David Anthony Levack, 45, of Kingsford. Levack was arrested Oct. 18, 2011, following the homicide investigation of Joyce Johnson, 81, of Stambaugh Township, who was scheduled to testify against him in a stolen property trial.
According to Iron County Prosecutor Melissa Powell, Levack is charged with open murder, felony murder, first degree home invasion and witness intimidation. If convicted, he is facing a sentence on felony murder, or first degree murder, life without possibility of parole; second degree murder, life or any term of years up to life with the possibility of parole; home invasion, 20 years; witness intimidation, 15 years. Levack is currently lodged in Iron County jail on an amended $2 million cash bond. Levack is represented by attorney Dan Jaspen of Iron Mountain.
