Orv Sieger (left) and Bob Black attended the 71st annual Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Outdoor Sports Show in March to promote the Iron County area.  Black, Iron County Chamber of Commerce director, said, “We passed out thousands of pieces of information, talked to hundreds of people and even networked with other vendors. Even though Saturday was warm and there was a big St. Paddy’s Day parade in town, the place was packed. Even a little too busy, elbow to elbow, so we couldn’t get everyone’s attention. Friday night and Sunday was well attended and steady. Ever since working the shows, you kind of get a feel what the people want and are interested in. It seems when I talked to one person about a subject (fishing, etc…) others were swarming by to listen and grab information packets.” He noted that there were other neighboring vendors there as well from Gogebic County, Dickinson Tourism, Florence and Forest counties in Wisconsin and Wild Rivers Realty. “So, after a long exhausting weekend, I think it was well worth the booth. I have come back with fresh ideas and other plans for future advertising and other activities that we could work on.” (Black photo)
