CRYSTAL FALLS—The Iron County Youth Camp is now mailing out registration forms for both the Band Camp program and the Youth Camp program for the summer of 2012.
“Please obtain a registration form and mail it to the Youth Camp address, which is located on the registration form,” said Brian Schulze, camp director.
Dates and a brief description of the camp’s three programs are:
Senior Citizen Days at the Youth Camp are scheduled for June 13, 14 and 15 and will provide the opportunity for those who attend to enjoy the out-of-doors.
Boat rides, arts and crafts, music, archery, river rafting, singing and canoeing are some of the popular activities along with enjoying friends.
Band Camp is scheduled for the week of June 17 to June 23.
During this week, some of the most talented instrumental instructors and musicians in the county will come to Iron County to work with high school and junior high school band students.
These instrumental specialists will perform for the public at a Thursday concert at the Youth Camp beginning at 7:30 p.m., June 21. Everyone is invited.
The Band Camp student concert will be hosted by the Forest Park Public Schools at the high school gymnasium in Crystal Falls and will begin at 7:30 p.m., June 23. Everyone is invited.
Band Camp application forms are now available at the local school offices or from the local band instructors.
Batawagama Youth Camp is scheduled to begin June 25 and continue on a weekly schedule for five consecutive weeks.
During these weeks campers will enjoy the many outdoor activities that have been so popular for 67 years.
