PHELPS, Wis.—On March 24, join the community of Phelps, Wis., during its Maple Tour event.
This educational, family fun day will include: a breakfast featuring maple products at Sunrise Lodge; a tree tapping demonstration with tree identification at the Phelps School; a morning tour of three traditional sugar bushes; lunch at Holiday Lodge; an afternoon tour of a commercial sugar bush and a maple syrup cooking demonstration by chef Vicki Mendham with hands on sampling and recipe handouts at Sunrise Lodge.
Northwinds Bus Service is providing free transportation for the tour. The scheduled bus departure times are 9:30 a.m. from Sunrise Lodge and 10:30 a.m. from the Phelps School. Maps will be available for persons preferring to drive themselves.
Organizers advise participants to wear weather appropriate clothing.
Breakfast and lunch cost $8 per person, dinner cost $10 and meals for children 12 and under are half price.
Maple syrup and natural crafts will be available for purchase at Sunrise Lodge.
