IAHA hosting U.P. hockey tourneys PDF Print E-mail

CASPIAN—The Iron Amateur Hockey Association will host two major tournaments over the next two weekends at the indoor ice arena here.
 This weekend, Feb. 10 to 12, the IAHA hosts the U.P. Bantams tournament. Action starts at 2 p.m. Friday and ends Sunday with the championship game at 4 p.m. In all, 15 games will be played.

 Next weekend, Feb. 17 to 19, the U.P. Peewees tournament will be held at the Caspian rink, following the same schedule. Full schedules are available at the IAHA’s website,
 Admission to both tournaments is free.
 Eight teams from around the U.P., as well as the local IAHA Ice Hawks teams, will take part in the tournaments. Teams will be here from Marquette, Iron Mountain, Calumet, Ontonagon, Keweenaw Bay, Negaunee, Manistique, Munising, Houghton and Escanaba.
 Most of the teams will be staying in the local area. The winners of the tournaments will represent the U.P. at the state Bantam and Peewee tournaments.
