The Phelps Lions Club’s 26th annual Great Northern Ice Fishing Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 28, brought great northern types onto the ice of Lac Vieux Desert. Ice fishing family members and buddies from Iron River, Alvin, Wis., and Kenosha, Wis., met for a day on the ice and in the camper-shack. As the winds picked up, so did the fishing on Lac Vieux Desert. The group caught a combination of 23 fish, including walleye, northern pike and crappies.
