Land donation wanted
To the editor:
For some 50 years, there has been talk of a U.P. Michigan Veterans National Memorial Cemetery. On Sept. 18, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars 15th District fall Meeting in South Range, a resolution was passed to work on acquiring a National Memorial Veterans Cemetery in the Upper Peninsula.
There are 55,000 veterans in the Upper Peninsula and Northern Wisconsin. They are under the care of the VA Hospital in Iron Mountain. The Republic or Sagola area would be central to the area.
