ESCANABA—The Bays de Noc Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes the first U.P. Ice Masters 300.
Three major snowmobile ice racing associations will congregate at the U.P. State Fairgrounds on Jan. 14-15 for this exciting event.
The Midwest Ice Racing Association, TLR Cup Championship Ice Racing Series and the U.S. Snowmobile Association Prostar Oval Ice Racing Series will provide a type of NASCAR on ice.

With the help of the frigid weather of the North, a 3/8 mile oval ice track will be prepared for sleds that can reach speeds in excess of 100 miles.
The associations expect about 40-60 corporate race teams, and their crews, from across the United States that will compete for $101,200 in prize money; $76,000 for points accumulated at the six designated races and $25,200 in prize money for the top 10 finishers at each race.
The schedule includes qualifying races that will start on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
Activities also include Heat racing starting at 1 p.m. and featuring Sprint pro, semi-pro and junior and vintage machines. The finals will start at 4 p.m. and continue under the lights until about 8 p.m.
On Sunday, racing will start at 10:30 a.m. with the Outlaw/Pro Champ 440 shoot out and will be followed by the 150 mile Enduro race.
Sunday will provide an opportunity for fans to mingle with the racers and get up close to the snowmobiles during a meet-n-greet on the track at 11:30 a.m.
Also, the Exhibition Building will be open, both days, for spectators to warm up and enjoy food and beverages from the concession stand. Adults 21 and over, with an ID, can enjoy adult beverages.
The TLR CUP is a six-race competition across multiple snowmobile racing associations for the Pro Champ class at oval races.
The U.S. Snowmobile Association is the world’s first and oldest snowmobile sanctioning body. The USSA is the original and the only continuous snowmobile race sanctioning body since organized snowmobile racing began. USSA holds annual events in Wisconsin towns: Amherst, Eagle River, Wausau and Weyauwega.
