Our office is located right on the highway, so when the fire trucks head somewhere or the ambulance speeds out of town or when squad car sirens are heard, we know there is some trouble somewhere.
 Lately, we have been hearing those sirens much too often. Late summer has been marked by a series of severe traffic accidents, including several fatalities.
 A bad spell of luck, perhaps, but it’s a reminder that bad things can happen when you get behind the wheel, and paying a lot at the gas station is the least of your problems.
