Tax cuts hurt seniors
To the editor:
On April 28, a vote was taken in the Michigan House of Representatives on a bill promoted by Governor Snyder and a host of Republican representatives that slashes business taxes while raising taxes on retirees, the working poor and other individual taxpayers.  The bill passed, on a 56-53 vote. Western U.P representatives Matt Huuki and Ed McBroom both voted in favor of the bill.
This bill proposes to cut taxes on corporations by $1.73 billion.  How would the state make up this $1.73 billion tax cut for corporations? The money would come from a series of cuts to the poor, senior citizens and pensioners.
