Curtain rises for ‘Alice’ on Friday PDF Print E-mail

Members of the West End Players are in full costume for a dress rehearsal of their production of “Alice in Wonderland Jr.,” which they will perform this weekend at the Windsor Center in Iron River. Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts and everyone else will perform in three shows: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
IRON RIVER—Get out your mad-hats and Cheshire smiles. This Friday through Sunday, Dec. 13 to 15, the West End Players will perform the Disney adventure “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” at the Windsor Center.
The curtain rises at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The entire cast is composed of children and young adults from Iron and Dickinson counties. Tickets are $6 for everyone 3 and older (under age 3 are free) and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the Iron County Chamber of Commerce office.
The play is based on the 1951 Disney film “Alice in Wonderland” and the novels “The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking Glass” by Lewis Carroll.
Music and lyrics are by Sammy Fain, Bob Hilliard, Oliver Wallace, Cy Coban, Allie Wrubel, Ray Gilbert, Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston. Music is adapted and arranged and additional music and lyrics are by Bryan Louiselle. Book adapted and additional lyrics are by David Simpatico.
The main cast members are:
--Amanda Kleiman as Tall Alice; Anja Kleiman as Small Alice; Eliana Holroyd as Medium Alice; Addy Howell as Caterpillar; Alexis Jacks as Mad Hatter; Brittany Cunningham as White Rabbit;
--Emily Howell as Queen of Hearts; Isaac Serbinski as King of Hearts; James Swanson as March Hare; Marly and Nick Mattson as Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee; Megan Pope as Doorknob;
--Sydney Timbrook as Mathilda; Taryn Johnson as Dodo Bird and Cheshire Cat; Rachel Gill, Elise Goldberg and Taylor Clark as Flowers; and Lexi Anderson, Avery Bociek, Jenna Gray, Jalyn Mattson, Faith Nelson.
Traci Howell is the director, Dawn Swanson is assistant director; and Jessica Holroyd is in charge of set direction and building.
